Even More Pet Friendly State Parks on the Horizon Michigan Piloting New Program
Taking your furry children camping is getting a lot easier thanks to a new pilot program from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to make a more pet friendly state park system.
Starting Today, November 1st 2016, the DNR are launching a pet friendly pilot program in select campgrounds that you can take up to two of your furry pals (Dogs & Cats only) with you for your stay in campground cabins.
The campgrounds/cabins included in this pilot program are:
Harrisville State Park (Mini Cabin #186)
Lime Island State Park (Mini Cabin #4)
Leelanau State Park (Hemlock and Cedar)
Sleepy Hollow State Park (Rustic Cabin)
Cheboygan State Park (Lodge)
There is an additional fee of $10 per night/pet/cabin or $15 per night/pet/lodge, and all pet rules and leash laws still apply.
The Michigan DNR also offer other pet friendly state park activities including all State Parks and over 138 State Forests. This is just one more awesome way the Michigan DNR are working to keep the Parks friendly for all, including our four-legged friends!!
